Neuer becomes fourth goalkeeper in Bundesliga history to reach 500th game

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer played his 500th Bundesliga match on Sunday, in the match against Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena, in the thirty-third matchday, Report informs, referring to Bein Sports.

The 38-year-old Gelsenkirchen native, who is in his thirteenth season at Bayern Munich, has played 156 matches in the top flight of German football with Schalke and 344 with Bayern Munich.

Neuer becomes the fourth goalkeeper in Bundesliga history to reach this milestone after Oliver Kahn (557) with Karlsruher and Bayern Munich, Eike Immel of Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart (534), and Uli Steine, who played for Eintracht, Hamburger, and Arminia Bielefeld (512).

Manuel Neuer celebrated his 500th match with a victory. Bayern Munich defeated Wolfsburg 2-0 on the penultimate matchday of the competition. The goalkeeper was substituted a quarter of an hour before the end by Daniel Peretz.
