Manchester United waiting in wings to snap up Lewandowski

Manchester United are reported to be waiting in the wings to enter the race for Robert Lewandowski should his move to Barcelona collapse.

Report informs, citing Daily Star, that Lewandowski has confirmed he wishes to depart Bayern Munich this summer, with the Catalan giants believed to have identified the Poland striker as their primary summer target.

Barcelona remain Lewandowski's ideal destination, but their financial position remains precarious and as such, The Sun report, United are monitoring the situation.

It is claimed that United are watching the situation with a potential view to arranging a similar agreement that saw Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford last summer.

Lewandowski scored 35 goals last season in the German Bundesliga and became the tournament's top scorer.
