France may be disqualified from the ongoing 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia for fielding an ineligible player.
Report informs via foreign media that the bone of contention is 17-year-old Montpellier star Yanis Issoufou.
Issofou played for Niger Republic in the qualifiers three months earlier.
It is strictly forbidden for a footballer to play for two teams in the same competition by FIFA and hence an action could be taken against the French team.
