The captain of the Azerbaijan minifootball national team, Elvin Alizada, has shared his impressions about the match against Romania in the 1/8 finals of the World Championship.
Speaking to Report, he indicated that they are not inferior to the opponent, who is the current world champion.
The player emphasized that they know the Romanian national team well:
"As you know, Romania has been European champion 6 times and a world champion once. They are a good opponent who deserves respect. However, we are not inferior to them. Because in recent years, we have won all the games we played against Romania in both the World and European championships. Therefore, the advantage is on our side. But let's not forget that the opponent is the current world champion. We know the opponent, and we will enter the field to win. The team is well prepared. I think we will advance to the next stage."
Azerbaijan's national team, which finished the group stage of the Minifootball World Cup (2025 WMF World Cup) held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku as the leader, will face Romania in the round of 16 today. The match will start at 08:30 pm (GMT+4).
