Azerbaijani footballer enters list of goalkeepers with most goals scored

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has published the ranking for the world’s highest scoring goalkeepers in the first decade of XXI century, Report informs.

All goals scored in top level games since 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2010 are taken in consideration.

The similar ranking for 2nd decade (2011-2020) has been published earlier.

The winner for both decades is the same: Rogério Ceni. The unrivalled Brazilian notched 76 goals in the 1st decade and 36 in the 2nd. In both cases, he outscored all competitors by more than twice.

The list of 15 goalkeepers also included the Azerbaijani goalkeeper, the former captain of Turan FC, Nizami Sadigov. He scored 9 goals in the Azerbaijan Championship in 2001-2010.
