The British Embassy in Baku, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), has organized a training session on carbon accounting for the country's banking institutions.
The embassy told Report that the initiative is part of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) program and the British Standards Institution (BSI).
The initiative aims to raise awareness in the financial sector about managing carbon emissions and adopting best international practices in this area.
The four-day event focuses on enhancing the banking sector’s capacity to develop carbon accounting strategies for financed emissions using international standards. Financed emissions refer to the carbon footprint associated with funding through equity, debt, or other financial instruments.
