Turkiye’s Central Bank successfully conducts test transactions with digital lira

The Central Bank of Turkiye has successfully conducted test transactions using the ‘digital lira’ - the official cryptocurrency, Report informs referring to Turkish media.
“The first transactions through the digital Turkish lira system have been successfully carried out as part of the first stage of the project study. The Central Bank will continue limited tests for a narrow circle of interested parties in the first quarter of 2023,” reads the regulator’s message.
The bank plans next year to include some banks and financial technology companies in the trials.
