Turkiye loses over $2B in foreign exchange reserves

The total reserves of the Central Bank of Turkiye in the first week of 2023 decreased by $2.345 billion compared to the previous week, dropping to $126.41 billion, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.
As of January 6, the Central Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $3.244 billion to $79.66 billion. Gross foreign exchange reserves as of December 30 stood at $82.904 billion.
During this period, the country's gold reserves increased by $899 million - from $45.851 billion to $46.75 billion.
Thus, the total reserves of the Central Bank decreased from $128.755 billion to $126.41 billion in the week from January 6.
