Taleh Kazimov: Some banks in Azerbaijan have problems with financial performance

Some banks have problems with financial performance in Azerbaijan, but they are not systemically important banks, Chairman of the Central Bank Taleh Kazimov said at a press conference on changes in the parameters of the discount rate, Report informs.

“Currently, we are working with these banks. I consider the general condition of the financial sector to be satisfactory. The quality of the sector’s loan portfolio is also satisfactory. The share of non-performing loans in the portfolio is only 3.7%. If you ask me if I am satisfied with the general condition of the financial sector, I will answer “no.” I would like the participants of the financial sector to introduce more best practices in the field of risk management and corporate governance,” Kazimov stressed.
