Taleh Kazimov: Azerbaijan’s Central Bank surplus to decrease in 2024-2025

According to forecasts of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the current account surplus in the country this year will amount to $9-10 billion, CBA Chairman Taleh Kazimov wrote on X, Report informs.

“The current account surplus is expected to range from $7.5 to 8.5 billion in 2024, and $7 billion in 2025,” he wrote.

From January to June of this year, the current account surplus amounted to $5.154 billion, which is two times or 50.1% less than in the same period last year.

This indicator was formed due to a surplus in the foreign trade balance in the amount of $7.488 billion (42.5% less), a deficit in the balance of services in the amount of $1.113 billion (16.4% less), a deficit in the balance of primary revenue in the amount of $1.817 billion (31.5% less) and a surplus in the balance of secondary revenue in the amount of $597.1 million (2.2 times less).
