Use of smart devices in payments through POS-terminals makes up 27%

In January-October of this year, the use of smart devices in payments through POS terminals in Azerbaijan amounted to 27%, Rashad Gasimov, a senior specialist at the Payment and Settlement Systems Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said at the "Payment security and cyber security" training organized for media representatives, Report informs.

"Previously, our goal was to conduct educational events among citizens to replace cash payments with card payments, but now we are promoting non-cash payments without cards, that is, through smart devices. This plays a role in preventing fraud and the possibility of theft of card data of citizens during payments," he said.
