Nominal wages up by 11% in Azerbaijan

As of August 1, 2023, the number of hired workers in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to over 1.706 people. Of these, 891,700 people are employed in the public sector of the economy, and 814,800 in the non-state sector, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.
In January-July 2023, the average monthly nominal wage of employees increased by 11.3% year-on-year, amounting to 925.3 manats ($544.3). The highest salaries were observed in the areas of mining, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as information and communications.
