In August, Japan recorded the fastest increase in consumer prices in the last eight years in annual terms, Report informs, citing the data of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The indicator for August this year increased by 2.8% compared to the same period a year earlier, which was the fastest increase since 2014 due to rising food and energy prices.
The inflation rate remains above the Bank of Japan's target of 2% for the fifth month in a row.
