Gold, silver prices hit highest levels since July 14

Gold and silver prices climbed sharply in Wednesday morning trading, with both metals reaching their highest levels since July 14, according to market data.
The August gold futures contract on the New York Comex exchange rose by $57.07, or 1.4%, from the previous close to $4,133.47 per troy ounce, moving above the $4,100 mark for the first time since July 14.
Meanwhile, September silver futures gained 1.53% to $60.01 per ounce, surpassing the $60 level for the first time since July 14.
