Finance Minister: Economy to reach pre-pandemic level by year-end

Azerbaijan's economy, which has slightly contracted as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, is recovering at an accelerated pace, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov told a joint meeting of the parliamentary committees on public associations and religious structures, science and education, family, women and children, health care and culture, Report informs.
“For 9 months of 2021, real GDP growth amounted to 4.8%, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 8.3%. Although our economy is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels next year, we will restore that level by the end of this year,” he opined.
