Durov: Telegram becomes profitable for first time in 3 years

Telegram has turned profitable for the first time in three years since the start of its monetization program, and total revenue in 2024 exceeded $1 billion, Telegram founder Pavel Durov wrote in his Telegram channel, Report informs referring to foreign media.

"As I predicted, 2024 turned out to be very successful for Telegram. For the first time in the three-year history of Telegram's monetization, it became profitable," he wrote.

He noted that this year the number of Telegram Premium subscribers tripled, exceeding 12 million, advertising revenue grew several times, and the current year is ending with cash reserves of more than $500 million, while Telegram's total revenue in 2024 exceeded $1 billion.
