Deposits in Azerbaijani banks up by 23%

As of January 1, deposits in Azerbaijani banks amounted to 29.02 billion manats, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the bank, this figure is 8.3% more than on December 1 and 22.7% more than on January 1, 2021.
Of this, 61.6% or 17.893 billion manats fell to the share of non-financial organizations, 31.5% more than a year earlier.
During the reporting period, household deposits increased by 13% to 9.24 billion manats, and deposits of financial institutions increased by 0.4% to 1.89 billion manats.
There are 26 banks in the country.
