In January-May 2025, the value of goods sold and services provided to meet consumer needs amounted to 30 billion manats ($17.64 billion) in Azerbaijan, 5.2% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the specified period, 77.8% of the total value was accounted for by retail trade turnover, 18.9% by the value of paid services provided to the population, and 3.3% by public catering turnover.
The value of goods sold and services provided by economic entities operating in the non-state sector increased by 5% compared to January-May of last year and amounted to 28.7 billion manats ($16.88 billion), 42.4% of which was formed due to the activities of individual entrepreneurs.
In five months, a consumer spent an average of 586.5 manats (nearly $345) per month, or 55 manats ($32.35) more in nominal terms compared to the same period in 2024.
