CBA plans to increase gender equality in financial sector

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) plans to take new steps to improve gender equality and strengthen corporate governance in the country's financial sector, CBA Deputy Governor Gular Pashayeva said, Report informs.
Pashayeva noted that only 10-15% of managers in Azerbaijani banks, insurance and investment companies are women.
Pashayeva also announced the adoption of a recommendation document stating that at least one woman should be on the boards of leading banks and other financial institutions in the country.
The deputy chairperson noted that various training and mentoring programs are planned to support the professional development of women.
The CBA representative added that she will visit the UK to study international experience in the field of gender equality and will hold meetings at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London.
