Azerbaijan increases defense and national security expenses by nearly 160M manats for 2025

A number of public legal entities in Azerbaijan are recommended to cover their expenses through their own revenues rather than from the state budget by mobilizing additional income potential, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis during the discussion of the state budget for 2025, Report informs.

"As a result, approximately 159 million manats ($93.53 million) will be freed up for this purpose and will be fully directed towards additional financial support for measures related to further strengthening our country's defense and national security. With this, the total amount of defense and national security expenses in the state budget will reach 8.86 billion manats ($5.02 billion)," the minister noted.
