The State Tax Service (STS) of Azerbaijan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) discussed new directions for bilateral cooperation and projects aimed at leveraging the Fund's expertise in tax administration.
According to Report, the discussions took place within the framework of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Baku.
Orkhan Nazarli, head of the STS, met with Debra Adams, head of the IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department Revenue Management Division.
Adams was briefed on the goals outlined in the STS Strategy for 2025-2028, the progress made in improving tax administration in Azerbaijan, measures to encourage voluntary compliance, and tax policies implemented to combat the "shadow economy."
