Urea production in Azerbaijan has increased by nearly 3%

In January-May 2025, 255,900 tons of urea was produced in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.
This figure is 2.7% more compared to the first five months of 2024.
As of June 1, 2025, there was a remainder of 16,700 tons of finished product.
Urea (nitrogen fertilizer) is produced at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in the territory of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and has the capacity to produce 650,000-660,000 tons of urea per year using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material. Seventy percent of the production volume is intended for export.
