As a result of the return of the city and villages of Lachin, which were under the temporary control of the peacekeepers, to the control of Azerbaijan, two hydropower plants with a total capacity of 6.5 megawatts have been restored, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said in his article published in an official newspaper, Report informs.

According to him, the restoration of 11 small hydropower stations in almost two years brings about 54 megawatts of production capacity to the energy system.
"In these areas, more than 50 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of more than 320 MW are being investigated for rehabilitation," Shahbazov said. "Currently, works are being carried out on the construction of 5 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 26.9 megawatts (Chirag-1, Chirag-2, Gamishli, Meydan, and Soyugbulag)."
