Türkiye plans to increase Black Sea gas production from 6 to 10 MCM

Türkiye expects to increase the volume of gas produced at Black Sea fields from 6 to 10 million cubic meters per day by April 2025, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said, Report informs referring to Ihlas agency.

"The volume of gas produced at the Black Sea Sakarya field has increased to 6 million cubic meters per day. In other words, 6 million of the 20 million households using natural gas in Türkiye now receive energy from the natural gas that we produce in the Black Sea and Sakarya. We hope that by April of the first quarter of 2025, we will increase this figure to 10 million cubic meters," he noted.

Bayraktar also said that Türkiye is creating a marine base that will allow the country to increase the volume of gas produced.

"I have another piece of news for you. Again, our president said this a few weeks ago... We are creating an offshore base. Our new floating production platform is now on its way and will arrive by the end of September. With this production facility, we will extract 10 million cubic meters of gas over 20 years, 170 kilometers from land, and we will offer this gas to you in our homes and businesses," he added.
