The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is ready to play a role in Syria's energy supply if such a decision is made at the state level, SOCAR Turkiye Enerji CEO Elchin Ibadov said at a press conference in Istanbul, according to Report.
"We are happy about the establishment of peace and stability in Syria and the region. This will be followed by economic development, which in turn will increase the demand for electricity," he said.
"Energy will be needed for construction and restoration works, for revival in all sectors. If the government (makes a decision) from a political perspective and in accordance with the interests of Azerbaijan and Türkiye assigns such a role to SOCAR Turkiye Enerji, we will gladly fulfill it," he noted.
