The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has introduced a new technology for measuring emissions using drones and satellite equipment, SOCAR Deputy Vice President Teymur Guliyev said at public hearings in the parliamentary committee on natural resources, energy and ecology, Report informs.
He noted that measuring emissions on offshore oil and gas platforms and long pipelines using hand tools is ineffective and creates practical difficulties.
"The use of drones and satellite technology significantly simplifies this process and reduces costs," Guliyev added.
