Since September, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has started exporting gas to Bulgaria, Capital newspaper said, Report informs.
According to the information, Bulgaria's old Trans-Balkan Gas Pipeline, which transports Russian gas to Türkiye by 2020, has resumed operation. However, this time the pipeline will transport gas in the opposite direction - from Türkiye to Bulgaria and repeat the Turkish flow.
There is no official information about which gas enters Bulgaria through this pipeline, who supplies it and where it is sold. The volumes of natural gas transported through this pipeline are impressive. Thus, approximately 30% of the average daily consumption in the Bulgarian market has been transported through this pipeline.
However, Capital noted that the situation is different: "From September 1, SOCAR entered the Bulgarian market using the Turkish gas network and the Trans-Balkan Gas Belt.”
