SOCAR’s STAR refinery increases LPG output by 47% in Jan–May

SOCAR’s STAR oil refinery in Türkiye produced nearly 109,458 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the five months of 2025, Report informs, citing Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
This represents a 47% increase—or 34,991 tons more—compared to the same period in 2024.
In May alone, STAR refinery produced approximately 21,962 tons of LPG, which is 73.7% (or 9,316 tons) more than in May 2024.
Across all Turkish refineries, total LPG production from January to May 2025 reached around 452,111 tons—up 15.6% (or 60,946 tons) compared to the same five-month period last year.
In May, Türkiye’s refineries produced over 99,293 tons of LPG, an increase of 27,117 tons, or 37.6%, compared to May 2024.
