SOCAR’s STAR refinery boosts jet fuel output by 54% in Jan–May

SOCAR’s STAR oil refinery in Türkiye produced over 659,503 tons of jet fuel (kerosene for jet engines) in the five months of 2025, Report informs, citing Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
This marks an increase of 230,757 tons, or 53.8%, compared to the same period in 2024.
In May alone, STAR produced approximately 199,547 tons of jet fuel—up by 73,897 tons, or 58.8%, year-on-year.
Overall, Turkish oil refineries produced about 2,578,791 tons of jet fuel from January to May 2025, showing a 27.4% rise (or 554,642 tons more) compared to the same period last year.
In May alone, Türkiye’s refineries produced around 611,121 tons of jet fuel—an increase of 165,842 tons, or 37.2%, compared to May 2024.
