SOCAR mulls future prospects of field hosting world’s first mechanically drilled oil well

The future prospects of the Bibiheybat field were discussed at the Azneft Production Union of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Report informs, citing Azneft.

With the participation of Azneft Director General Ali Gurbanov, an inspection of the production areas and newly constructed green zones of the Bibiheybatneft Oil and Gas Extraction Department was conducted.

The future prospects of the Bibiheybat field were examined at the meeting.

The oil wells drilled in 1846 at Bibiheybat field in Baku were the first mechanically drilled oil wells in the world and represented an important technical innovation.
