SOCAR, along with partners, explores relaunching Baku-Supsa pipeline

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), along with partners, is evaluating the possibilities of using the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline, said Rufat Gambarov, head of the Business Development Department of SOCAR Midstream Operations, Report informs.

Speaking at the Caspian and Central Asia Oil Trade and Transportation Forum in Baku, Gambarov highlighted that the transportation via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline is currently suspended:

"At one time, oil produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields was transported through this route. Currently, operations on the pipeline have been suspended. However, its transmission capacity is slightly more than 100,000 barrels per day, and this is considered a sustainable infrastructure of strategic importance for the region."

Gambarov added that the Baku-Supsa pipeline could offer attractive opportunities in the future for traders, carrier companies, and partners actively involved in oil production and trade: "SOCAR, together with relevant partners, is exploring ways to use this potential."
