Serbian minister: Gas contract between SOCAR and Srbijagas will create wide opportunities

The agreement signed between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Serbian company Srbijagas on gas sales creates wide opportunities for Serbia, said Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, the Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Report informs, citing the local press.

According to her, after the completion of the construction of the Bulgarian-Serbian Interconnector in the coming weeks, Serbia will have another gas supplier in Azerbaijan.

Handanovic added that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in the field of energy will create potential cooperation in the field of delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through other terminals in Türkiye and Greece, as well as in the construction of gas storages and gas-fired power plants.
