Rovshan Najaf: Over 1150 students completed internships at SOCAR enterprises

During January-September of this year, more than 1,150 students underwent internships at the enterprises of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf said at the panel titled "Synergy that Turns Knowledge into Value" organized within the framework of the Education Development Forum, Report informs.

Najaf noted that cooperation in the fields of industry and science can be implemented in several directions: "Educational institutions are the source of human capital for industry. In other words, human capital is provided through universities. In this regard, higher education institutions should prepare and present new personnel in accordance with the needs of the industry, especially considering future needs. The industry has obligations to properly convey its plans to educational institutions for the preparation of personnel in accordance with its needs."

Najaf noted that SOCAR has started several programs in this direction: "One of them is an internship program implemented with five higher education institutions. During this internship, they become familiar with SOCAR's vision, work principles, and corporate responsibility, and gain the opportunity to communicate closely with employees. This plays an important role when deciding to move forward together in the future. Also, such programs allow for better understanding of young people and improving internal corporate management systems to create suitable working conditions for them."
