The level of gas supply in Azerbaijan has reached 96.6%, with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic achieving a 100% coverage rate, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Report informs.
Asadov highlighted that Azerbaijan is ahead of the CIS and other neighboring countries in terms of gas supply. “Despite this achievement, efforts will continue, within financial constraints, to extend natural gas to the remaining 3.4% of subscribers,” he stated.
The prime minister noted that relevant government agencies are collaborating with local executive bodies to address this issue.
Additionally, he pointed out the ongoing gas supply project in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
“Although Nakhchivan has achieved 100% gas equipping, work on establishing a second gas line with Türkiye is progressing well,” the prime minister added.
