Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has announced plans to expand joint initiatives with partners on regional projects in gas supply and renewable energy.
Report informs that Shahbazov voiced the plans during his speech at the "Challenges and Opportunities for a Sustainable Future" session of the energy forum held in Istanbul.
The minister emphasized the successful cooperation between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Türkiye's state oil and gas company BOTAŞ in implementing large projects, including the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
According to him, these initiatives demonstrate how crucial international cooperation is for meeting growing energy demands and combating climate change.
Shahbazov also noted the importance of natural gas, which continues to play a vital role in ensuring energy security alongside renewable energy sources: "We must ensure necessary regional cooperation to solve all the tasks at hand. We have great plans to extend this cooperation in the future."
