Azerbaijan has mobilized all its capabilities for the rapid implementation of specific renewable energy projects, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said at a COP29 event titled "Financing Low Carbon Technology Including Nuclear Energy" held in Baku, Report informs.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan is a country rich in energy resources and continues to bring its energy resources to the international market: "We have also paid much attention to the development and use of renewable energy. We aim to increase the share of renewable sources in our energy production to 30.5% by 2030 and then to increase it further. But we won't be satisfied with this. We want to continue these activities and use the renewable energy sources more. Because we have sufficient alternative energy potential in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. We want to contribute to global energy security by using all these resources."
Shahbazov also touched upon Azerbaijan's energy cooperation with regional countries: "We are participating in the Green Energy Corridor project stretching to the European Union. We are also participating in important projects related to green energy corridors between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. With this project, we aim to connect Azerbaijan with Central Asian countries. All these works will contribute to both energy security and energy transformation."
