Masdar exploring offshore wind, green hydrogen, energy storage systems in Azerbaijan

Masdar, the biggest company in the UAE in the field of renewable energy, is conducting active research in key areas of transition to green energy in Azerbaijan - offshore wind energy, production of green hydrogen and development of battery energy storage systems, Director of Masdar Azerbaijan Murad Sadykhov said during an event on the topic "Innovative pathways to a greener future: renewable energy sources and emission reduction," Report informs.

"We continue research in the field of offshore wind energy, green hydrogen and energy storage systems. In Nakhchivan, one of our subsidiaries conducted a comprehensive study covering power grid management and battery technologies. We conducted similar studies in the mainland part of the country to assess the impact of increasing the share of renewable energy in Azerbaijan's energy balance," he noted.

According to Sadykhov, the country has already begun to receive tangible economic returns from the development of green energy.

"We are optimistic. Thanks to the joint efforts of all participants in this process, Azerbaijan is confidently moving towards a more sustainable energy future," he added.
