Khaliq Mammadov: Azerbaijan expanding its activities to ensure energy transition

Azerbaijan is expanding its activities to ensure a more efficient, fast and high-quality energy transition, Vice President for Human Resources and Security of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Khaliq Mammadov said on the second day of the Baku Energy Forum, Report informs.
He noted that the expansion of the use of green energy is identified as one of the five national priority areas in the document “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development.”
According to Mammadov, priority is given to green energy projects in construction work in the liberated Azerbaijani territories: “These areas have a proven potential of 7,200 megawatts of solar energy and 2,000 megawatts of wind energy.”
