Kazakhstan plans to develop hydrogen energy to export green electricity to Europe, said the head of the committee on the energy and nuclear industry of the public council of the Energy Ministry, Erkebulan Kozhmambetov, Report informs referring to Kazakh media.
“We wanted to launch a large project to produce green hydrogen by 2030. Germany promises us funding. They want to allocate approximately 50 billion euros. With these funds they want to build 3 GW solar power plants and 4 GW wind power plants,” he noted.
In order to export “green” energy to European countries, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan previously signed a memorandum of cooperation on unifying energy systems. This will allow cooperation in the production of green energy and the organization of its export to Europe. It is assumed that a deep-sea energy cable will be laid along the bottom of the Caspian Sea for export.
