Azerbaijan holds strategic importance for Italy from an economic perspective, said Stefano Bonilauri, Director of the Italian publishing house Anteo Edizioni, told Report.
According to him, Italy and Azerbaijan have established strong and long-standing ties in both political and economic spheres.
"From an economic standpoint, Azerbaijan is crucial for Italy, as Rome relies heavily on Azerbaijani oil and gas supplies. At the same time, Italy is Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner within the European Union and one of its leading partners globally," the expert noted.
Bonilauri emphasized that bilateral cooperation has reached an all-time high and continues to evolve dynamically, increasingly shifting toward strategic partnership.
"I hope Italy will further strengthen its ties with Azerbaijan not only in economic and political matters but also in the cultural field. In recent years, Azerbaijan has proven itself to be a reliable and important partner," he concluded.
