Europe depends not only on oil imports but also on oil products, which means that fuel shortages next summer cannot be ruled out, said Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
Report informs, citing TASS, that Birol spoke in an interview published on Tuesday on the website of Der Spiegel magazine.
When the holiday season starts in Europe and the US, the demand for fuel will increase, he said, adding that then there may be a shortage, for example, of diesel fuel, gasoline, or kerosene, especially in Europe.
Birol recalled that some exporting countries, such as China, are just introducing the first export bans because they want to protect their consumers.
