IEA official: Special declarations on methane gas will be signed with Azerbaijan

Special declarations regarding methane gas will be signed with Azerbaijan, Christophe McGlade, the Head of the Energy Supply Unit at the International Energy Agency (IEA), said during the plenary discussions themed “International cooperation on energy security and sustainability” on the first day of the Baku Energy Forum held today, Report informs.
He said that within the framework of COP29, the IEA will implement measures to reduce methane emissions with Azerbaijan. McGlade noted that another direction of cooperation will be the strengthening of investment processes related to the low-emission orientation of investments and the introduction of new technologies.
