Haber Global: Azerbaijani gas gives hope to Syria

The supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan through Türkiye to the Syrian city of Aleppo was met with great joy by the local population, Report informs with reference to a news program aired by the Turkish Haber Global TV.

The program noted that Aleppo has been facing problems with electricity and natural gas. Residents of the city and surrounding areas are happily receiving Azerbaijani gas supplies now. This gives them hope for the future.

Residents noted that if infrastructure is built, the standard of living in Aleppo will improve and return to its normal state.

"Aleppo is the second largest industrial city in Syria. I have a factory there, but I cannot start it because there is no electricity. Türkiye has helped us a lot. We are trying to get our work back on track, bring our families back to the city. The situation is improving every day," said one of the residents.

Two billion cubic meters of natural gas will be supplied to Syria annually. Syrians look to the future with hope. Life in Syria will significantly improve after Aleppo and other cities are provided with electricity.
