Gas extraction in Kazakhstan exceeds 17 billion cubic meters

Gas extraction in Kazakhstan reached 17.2 billion cubic meters in the first quarter of 2025, country's Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

According to Report, commercial gas production in January–March amounted to 7.3 billion cubic meters, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production reached 500,000 cubic meters (excluding gas from Tengizchevroil).

Kazakhstan's gas production for 2025 is planned at 62.8 billion cubic meters, including 29.4 billion cubic meters of commercial gas and 1.7 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas.

The minister emphasized that the main growth in gas production in 2025 is expected to come from key fields: Karachaganak (200 million cubic meters), Tengiz (2.9 billion cubic meters), and Kashagan (800 million cubic meters).

Kazakhstan's gas production in 2024 amounted to 59 billion cubic meters.
