Given the evolving dynamics of the global energy market, Azerbaijan should optimize its priorities, policies, and investments, according to the country’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Report informs.
Speaking at the 11th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the 3rd Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting, Shahbazov emphasized that despite geopolitical tensions and market volatility, natural gas remains the cornerstone of energy security, a strategic wealth, and will be a central component of energy for a long time:
"This requires investments in gas fields and infrastructure. We need to make quick decisions considering this important reality. Otherwise, ensuring the necessary supply volumes will generally fail.”
“Another fundamental truth is that there is no alternative to diversification in ensuring sustainable energy security. Therefore, obtaining energy volume from different sources and routes is not only a fundamental guarantee and independence of energy security but also important for Europe. This issue should remain a permanent priority and should be considered at the most critical moments. Regarding the importance of Azerbaijani gas, the Southern Gas Corridor is a strategic wealth for Europe, and this is an integral part of our plans. In recent years, Azerbaijan has not only maintained its position as a reliable partner but has also significantly expanded its geography," he added.
