Elnur Soltanov: We have turned our energy resources into strategic asset for Turkic world

Azerbaijan is effectively utilizing its energy resources for the benefit of the Turkic world, Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said at the "Middle Corridor 360°: From Geopolitics to Digital Transformation, From Family to Green Development" forum held in Baku.

According to Report, Soltanov emphasized that the Turkic world is inseparable from global history and civilizational progress. Recalling Azerbaijan's leading role in the 19th-century oil revolution, he noted that the country was not independent at that time.

"In our second period of independence, we used our resources wisely—to strengthen sovereignty and liberate our occupied lands," he said.

Highlighting the vital role of Türkiye in the implementation of Azerbaijan’s energy strategy, Soltanov remarked:

"Our brotherhood with Türkiye laid the foundation for economic cooperation. We turned our resources into value by creating an energy axis for the entire Turkic world."

He added that no single Turkic country—including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, or even Türkiye—can independently achieve large-scale global competitiveness. Only through joint efforts can meaningful influence be realized.

Soltanov also pointed to the potential of new technologies and green energy as a unique opportunity for the Turkic world’s future development.
