So far, investments by BP, which is the operator of several major projects in the Caspian Sea, and its partners in projects in Azerbaijan have amounted to $85 billion, said BP Vice President for the Caspian region, Communications and External Affairs Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Report informs.
Over the entire period, more than 4.3 billion barrels of oil were produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field block, he noted.
About 50 billion cubic meters of associated gas have so far been transferred free of charge to the government of Azerbaijan, and more than 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been extracted from the Shah Deniz field since the beginning of its development.
