Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli: 'Shah Deniz has produced about 189 bcm of gas so far'

About 189 billion cubic meters of gas have been produced since the first day of production at the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, BP's Vice President for Foreign Relations and Communication in the Caspian region, said during his speech at the international scientific conference themed "Architect of Independent Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.

According to him, since the signing of the Contract of the Century, a total of 4.2 billion barrels of oil have been produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block: “Under the contract, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan has received $167 billion since that time.”

Aslanbeyli said that the income from the sale of profit oil is of great importance for the development of the country's economy, social area, etc.: “Today, there are 8 platforms in the Caspian Sea. The construction of the 9th platform will be completed in June. 8 platforms and the Sangachal terminal have the most advanced equipment.”
