Azerbaijani MP calls for green budget focus in Chamber of Accounts' Audits

Investments in green energy rose by 21% in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to Sadig Gurbanov, Chairman of the Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology Committee of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), Report informs.

Gurbanov made the remark during the discussion of the Chamber of Accounts' annual activity report at today’s parliamentary plenary session.

He noted that solar and wind energy projects are predominantly underway in the Khizi and Gobustan districts.

The chairman emphasized the need for comprehensive audits and detailed analyses in this sector moving forward.

"Within this framework, it would be fitting for the Chamber of Accounts to prioritize results-driven budgeting and incorporate green budget methodologies into its audit activities," he stated.
