Azerbaijan, UK mull transition to green energy

Azerbaijan and the UK discussed further steps in cooperation on renewable energy, especially green hydrogen production, as well as energy efficiency and strengthening of electric grids, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry.

The discussions were held at a round table on “Transition to green energy in Azerbaijan” at the ministry with the participation of Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov and the representatives of the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

At the round table, insight was provided on the current situation in the field of renewable energy, decarbonization, energy efficiency, and ongoing projects in Azerbaijan.

The representatives of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Energy Regulatory Agency under the ministry, as well as Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishiq OJSC, SOCAR and BP.
